Korg microAUDIO 722 & Ableton Live Setup: Audio, MIDI & Filter Routing Guide

We look at how this compact unit functions simultaneously as an audio interface, a MIDI interface, and a dynamic hardware filter (housing the legendary built-in Korg 700s filter circuit).
Watch how easy it is to control a Korg Volca Beats via MIDI using Ableton's External Instrument device, tweak the internal routing to isolate your filters, and sync the hardware LFO to get that classic rhythmic pumping effect perfectly locked to your project tempo.
The Korg microAUDIO 722 works with Ableton Live as an audio interface, a MIDI interface, and a filter (with the built in 700s filter). In this video, I show how the filter works in different modes demonstrating with a Korg Volca Beats being controlled by Ableton Live via MIDI as an Ableton 'Ext Instrument' on Track 1, and one of Ableton Live's built in software arpeggiated synths on Track 2.
The audio of the Volca is connected to the 2 inputs of the microAUDIO.
With Monitor set to both IN and USB, we can hear both the audio beats of the Volca coming through the physical inputs and the Ableton synth coming through USB.
When the Filter is set to IN, it only processes the beats from the Volca, and the Ableton synth is not filtered.
When the Filter is set to USB, it only processes the Ableton synth, and the beats from the Volca are not filtered.
With Monitor set to USB only, we are hearing the beats of the Volca through Track 1 in Ableton Live and the arpeggiated synth in Track 2
With the Filter set to USB, this time it processes everything in Ableton Live, so both beats and synth are filtered
When we turn up the INTENSITY of the LFO we can hear the filter pumping. The LFO is set to SYNC so it takes tempo from Ableton Live. Every change of the Rate of LFO steps through 1/1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32 and so on.
