CryptoSteg v3.0 is a Python desktop application I built that hides secret, AES-256 encrypted messages inside ordinary image files using LSB (Least Significant Bit) steganography — so the image looks completely unchanged, while carrying hidden data inside it.
This project was built for my Introduction to Programming module (ST4017CMD) as part of the Ethical Hacking and Cybersecurity degree program.
Features demonstrated in this video:
• Encode — hide an encrypted message inside a cover image
• Decode — extract and decrypt the hidden message using the correct password
• Detect — run steganalysis to estimate whether an image contains hidden data
• Activity Log — automatic logging of every action, exportable as a PDF report
Built with:
• Python
• Tkinter (GUI)
• PyCryptodome (AES-256 encryption)
• Pillow + NumPy (image/pixel handling)
• ReportLab (PDF report generation)
