Big Rig Crashes Into Mini-van (Forensic Animation)
During peak hour traffic in Southern California, a large rig collided with a mini-van on a major freeway. Traffic had begun slowing to a stop, and the commercial truck driver did not apply his brakes. Thus, he crashed into the plaintiff’s stopped vehicle ahead of him.
To visualize the crash, our forensic animation team created 3 animated perspectives using real data from the collision:
1. The truck driver’s view from behind the plaintiff’s vehicle.
2. A trailing view to visualize the scene of slowing traffic (which is featured above).
3. A slow-motion view to highlight the severity of the impact.
The initial settlement offer was $450K, but after presenting the animations, the defense counsel increased their offer by $550K – for a total of $1M and an over 20x return on investment!
