I bought a @xaoc_devices Samarkanda about a month ago, and finally had a chance to play it! There is a short video introducing Samarkanda here: • Introducing Samarkanda 1953 Resampling D...
I'm using it here on the chords in this patch. Or rather, patches.. as I made two recordings, syncing Ableton with the modular using @busycircuits mmMidi. In the first recording i laid down the beat and basic chords, bass line and so on. In the second recording I overdubbed some more chords to build up the piece.
I sent chords (from Cizzle in the first recording and from MCO in the second recording) through a vca and then the Three Sisters filter. The vca and filter cut off are controlled by envelopes from @cosmotronic6436 Messor. The chords then go through the first three delay lines on Samarkanda. I'm patching the first two delays feedback paths through high pass and band pass filters (Variable Q and @toppobrillo Multifilter). After Samarkanda, the chords also go through @holocene_electronics Non-linear Memory Machine, which adds a little more delay, and then into my mixer. I put an aux send-return on the mixer, which goes through Clouds for more delay - which I bring in occasionally.
The beats sounds are samples on Squid Salmple - mostly taken from a recording I made last week where i was just playing around making sounds without much structure.
I hope you enjoy it!
