COVID-19 Update # 23 - Spread Innovation Challenge
Hello Kingston. The COVID-19 pandemic has brought enormous challenges to our healthcare system, to our local economy, and to our social connections. In order to stay safe now and recover well into the future, we will need new ideas, creative approaches and innovative thinking. Here at the Dunin-Deshpande Queen's Innovation Centre, they're about to launch the Spread Innovation Challenge starting May 1st. Now this is a four month, online program for anybody that's interested in developing a new idea to help our healthcare system, our economy or our community respond to the COVID-19 virus. The program is open to anyone. You don't need a new idea to apply, you just need to be interested in developing one. All you need is a team of at least three people. If you don't have a team and you still want to participate, you can connect with others who are already interested and looking for team members. If you apply by April 24th you can be eligible for a $5000 stipend to help cover your personal expenses over the next four months. You can learn more about the program at queensu.ca/innovationcentre.
