VPN is an alternative to connecting two or more sites, especially if the distance between points is not affordable by cable or wireless. Every site only needs to have a connection to the Internet, by hitching a ride on the public network (internet) so that any distance is no longer an obstacle. Tips:
1. The VPN path will be stable and easier in configuration if the server side has a dedicated internet and has a static public IP.
2. File transfers between sites will follow the smallest bandwidth of the two sites, so make sure the upload and download bandwidth on both sites is sufficient.
3. Don't forget to correctly set time and date on client and server so certificates can be invalid
