“Come, take a peek in the classroom. Don’t step on the summoning circle!” The classroom is littered with books, documents, and countless stray papers strewn about. The chalkboard is covered in strange symbols, unintelligible to most, with smudges hastily blotting out errors in a fit of epiphany. As you follow the peppy club member before you, something hard crunches dully underfoot, and your gaze lowers to find a piece of chalk, cracked in half from the weight of your foot, next to the aforementioned summoning circle. “Here in the Divine Assimilation Club, we’re studying divine beings and exploring the heavenly realm. There are a lot of ancient scripts and runes to decipher, but we’re so close to unlocking their secrets. Just over there, one of our members is reconstructing a rune that we found in our texts, and it looks like she just finished it!” Now that you’re looking more closely, it seems that one of the symbols from a point of the magical matrix is indeed missing, and a girl with short, blonde hair reaches for half of the chalk to scratch away at the floor.
As the girl finishes the symbol, she lifts her hand from the circle with a glimmer of excitement in her eyes. The matrix begins to glow—faintly at first, but soon with a raging ferocity. The lights in the room begin to flicker, and the ground shakes with an eerie creak. What a creepy coincidence... right?
“Wait, wh—”
Suddenly, the room grows dark, ominous clouds swirling in toward the center of the circle and crystalizing into something...
A... torii gate?
Large, oppressive pillars grow into towers above your head, and within their gape, a large, glowing portal looms. You approach—whether out of curiosity or fear, you do not know—and reach toward the projection, but something within you stops you before you’ve even made contact. Four imposing figures emerge from the light beyond the gate, standing over you as you stare in awe.

School life can be dull and repetitive, leaving much to be desired in a budding student’s day to day life. As the school year begins at Kawaakari Academy, it’s only natural to want to make a stark impression amongst the sea of new students. We chose the song KAIRAI for its high-energy, flashy aesthetics—perfect to make a striking impression on behalf of the Divine Assimilation Club! The song encapsulates an adrenaline-filled heartbeat as a storm crashes all around, racing and drumming with each flash of lightning while knowing that whatever is swirling around you has blown completely out of your control. Our club messed around and found out, releasing what human minds should never know into the mortal plane. Now they find themselves joined with the gods themselves, sent on a mission to “baptize Tokyo” in the light of the divine.
