What is Stoicism?

The philosophy of Zeno of Citium (300 BC), developed by Chrysippus, Epictetus, Seneca, Marcus Aurelius, and many others, has infiltrated contemporary culture as a response to a need that has been repeated throughout history: controlling emotions, or rather, learning to observe them, understand them, and thus avoid being manipulated by them.

Concepts such as oikeiosis, propathos, eupathos, philanthropy, Zenonism, apatheia, and eudaimonia appear again and again to explain concepts that we all naturally understand.

But Stoicism is currently being misinterpreted, leading its teachings to the most superficial tendencies rather than to the meaning of thought itself.

I hope that with this analysis I will be able to contribute my grain of sand to a philosophy in constant evolution.
