Welcome to our 4th Dolby Atmos 2024 Seminar featuring UK Immersive Engineer Richard Whittaker. It was hosted by Marc A Gallo and held on Tuesday April 30, 2024.
Our special guest was UK Author, Educator and Mixing Engineer Marcela Rada.
Dolby Atmos 2024 features recording artists, producers, engineers and industry experts who are deeply immersed in Dolby Atmos. Through these seminars and with your participation, we hope to elevate the craft of immersive productions.
In this seminar, Richard discussed his unique Atmos approach in producing heritage artists like Robin Trower and The Who. In addition, he walked us the immersive process of engineering The Who's seminal double album, Quadrophenia.
Richard produces these Atmos productions at his London facility, Starboard Audio, which features a 7.1.4 monitoring system.
Our special guest, Marcela Rada, provides an overview of her research on Spatial Audio which she plans to develop into a curriculum for music recording schools. This research includes interviews with leading immersive engineers.
