Behringer Pro 800 does Tangerine Dream tones...
Just using the two internal sequences and a manual patch as I prefer to do, I mess around with my usual Rubycon style sequences at 130 BPM with delays added. Very happy with the Pro 800 at the bargain price of £238 from Andertons here in the UK. In the past I have owned a Rev 2 Prophet 5, a Rev 3 Prophet 5, a T8 which I bought from Ultravox, a Pro 1, Prophet VS, Prophet 2000, Prophet 2002 rack, a Six Trak and a Prophet 600. My favourites were the Rev 2 P5 with ssm chips and the cheap and cheerful (Back in the 80s) Pro~1.
I never liked the membrane switches on the Prophet 600 ( and the DX7 mk1, Moog Source..) and don't like them any more on the Pro 800. The Pro 800 sounds great and very similar to my old P600 with better midi and extra features but it needs a simple patch up down control without having to punch in the numbers that will wear out that plastic membrane too quickly. 16 VCOs for £238???
When I got the pro 800 I put it next to my Sequential Prophet 5 and compared them thinking I could do without the Pro5 but they are very different and although string pads are almost identical on both more complex sounds are much better on the Prophet 5.
R.I.P. BAX Music and GAK gone - signs of the times; I went through that redundancy thing in 1993 but survived, I hope you guys are OK and keep making music!
I just started playing this from my Behringer Wave and it sounds like a dream made in heaven eight voice wavetable digital plus warm analog pads underneath- happy days summer is coming!
