When I went downtown with my girl and friends
I had 3 or 4 drinks at a bar with 200 heads
Met some guys with a table and tried to break bread
But I missed a queue and thus began my descent
I watched him pour me a drink and for the first time in my life
I accepted the gesture and played into the night
They had me busy on the side so I didn’t see
When he flashed a gun at my friend and said man

You see they wanted the girls and told us to split
But I didn’t hear shit I was busy having a sip
So my friend grabbed us all, threw us into the crowd

We got out on the street and ran down the block
I was confused as hell I heard keep running don’t stop
He asked me how I felt I lied and said fine
I mean after a few drinks I thought I’d feel alright
But as we got in the cab something started to shift
I kept blacking out I was a bit beyond sick
And when we got to my place I remember hitting the deck
I guess that drink had something to try and keep me in check
At last the door was locked and we were safe inside
And while I was on the ground feeling barely alive
I keep thinking what if what if what if
