This video demonstrates how to efficiently update a Revit model in Autodesk Navisworks while preserving existing Timeliner data. This workflow is useful for maintaining coordination data when design changes occur in Revit.
Workflow:
1. Open the Revit model (RVT) directly in Autodesk Navisworks and save the project as an NWF file.
2. Create sets and link Timeliner tasks within the NWF file.
3. Make design changes in Revit and save the RVT file.
4. Return to Navisworks and refresh the referenced model.
5. Navisworks updates the geometry while keeping existing Timeliner data intact.
This method is reliable only if the RVT file name and path remain unchanged.
For long-term collaboration or file sharing, using NWC export and referencing is recommended to prserve Timeliner data.
