In this series of 6 Videos, I will go through the basics of Fusion 360, covering everything from conception to mould design. If you are studying the IB Diploma in Design Technology, this series should help with Criteria C and E.

In Part 1, we start with the Job Status issues, Canvas inserting and calibrating. We look at creating a form using a Quadball and use Modify Form to adjust the shape. We create a Silicon Rubber Grip using Faces and we thicken the surface into a solid. We go on to split the product for quick Rapid Prototyping.
In Part 2, we roll back to the initial form, create the silicon rubber text and drill the holes for the joining bolts. We use the time line to remove features that stop the ability to shell and whilst able we shell the body, then reapply the features. We re-split the body and create a lip with tolerance for the two parts to be able to connect as the physical version. We also look at Draft analysis and use this data to apply draft edges for a successful end production.
In Part 3, we look at the reason for using webs within a shell and make use of Fusion's CFD and FEA Simulation tools to Stress Test a product with and without webbing. We then look at how to create and design a mould for the basic understanding of injection moulding, using the product to help create both negative and additive moulds, complete with registration points.
In Part 4, we spend a short time looking at the rendering aspects, applying physical and appearance materials to the designed product, we look at local and remote rendering options.
In Part 5, we revisit the CFD/ FEA simulation tools and look at Stress on an ABS moulded part, and also the Injection Moulding simulation, paying attention to the issues that arise when the injectors are not properly placed.
In Part 6, we quickly look at the working drawing aspects of Fusion, delving into drawing standards and showing how these can be changed, we look at Dimensions, Layout, Details and Text.
