Sometimes we feel obsessed with the other person (whether they are active, passive, seductive, or avoidant), and some call this limerence.
I'll return to this symbolism linked to emotional dependency and, for many, the wound of abandonment.
Those who suffer from rejection or other wounds may be emotionally dependent, but I'm going to refocus on the most widespread disorder, which is the anxious profile (abandonment wound) in the face of an avoidant person.
This phenomenon of attraction and repulsion is incredibly turbulent, and we can never imagine that it will continue this way. We become trapped in the idea that it's destiny, when in fact, we can free ourselves from it, whether it's karmic, a soul connection, or simply an idealized attraction. And if life offers us the opportunity to work on a subject of romantic involvement, what place does it occupy in our lives? Is this our priority in the hierarchy of needs, before our family, our health, our work? Do we live to be in love or to be loved?
