Adana is a city in southern Turkey. The administrative center is 1760.71 thousand inhabitants (2019). The fifth largest city in Turkey. The center of an important agricultural area of the country. The city at different times belonged to different civilizations and empires. The city itself was of strategic importance as a key to the passages, being on the road between Syria and Asia Minor and engaged in significant trade, which was facilitated by the depth of the river on which loaded ships approached the city itself.
