There is a lot of bias information online from individuals and organisations who want you to self publish with them. They want to make money from you and they are lying to you about traditional publishing to do. They want to scare you, make it sound like traditional publishing is difficult, complicated, you have no control, the editor makes all the decisions and they are mercenaries.
