Running the Tabular Join in ArcGIS Pro
In this video, we address how to run a tabular join. If we are working with or find an interesting stand-alone table, we can give it spatiality and attach it to an attribute table (table connected to points, lines or polygons) using the tabular join function. In this example, we download population growth data from the North Carolina Demographer (https://www.osbm.nc.gov/facts-figures...) in Excel format, format it a bit to eliminate extraneous elements and import it into ArcGIS Pro as a stand alone table. Using the county name as the key that exists in both tables (the stand-alone table and the attribute table for the NC Counties), we essentially append the stand-alone table to the end of the attribute table so it can be mapped, fields can be calculated into existing empty columns or exported altogether as a new feature class with the newly appended attributes.
