In this video series , I will show you how to convert 2d drawings to 3d drawings in AutoCAD through simple step by step methods.
For these tutorials I am assuming that you already have knowledge about basic 2d & 3d commands of autocad software.
Before converting any 2d drawing to 3d . i want you to note down certain points which are very very important when you create 3d.
First point - create a clean 2d geometry, like the one that you see on my screen .
Second point- all boundaries should be closed or connected, otherwise the 2d geometry cant be converted into a solid 3d geometry. Try to use polyline command instead of line command for creating a 2d drawing that you want to convert into 3d.
Third point- organise your drawing properly into layers like the one that you see on my screen .
Everything here is well organised into layers .
It is going to help in smooth transition of 2d into 3d. It is also going to provide you ease in working by giving flexibility of controlling the visibility of geometry on screen.
Fourth point-Figure out the parts of the furniture/drawing.draw a rough sketch of the parts.
And work out the dimensions of each part.And try to figure out the process that could be the best for creating 3d. Because there could be several approaches to create a 3d drawing. You have to analyse which method or approach could be the easiest and accurate for a particular furniture/drawing.
Fifth point- create a copy of 2d drawing before converting it into 3d.
