GROUP AND COMPONENT IN SKETCHUP
Group is a group of objects together, the grouped object can be a segment, face or many objects grouped together. When copying, any group will be independent of that group.
Component is also a group of objects like a group but allows naming and description, when any component changes, other components that are copied will be affected. This is similar to the Block command in Autocad.
