Hello, my name is Potae or Hamston (It’s my pen name). Today I will teach you how to start writing your comic professionally from writing script, character design, creating world until storyboard and storytelling./ I have been working on my own comic for a while so today I’ll share with you some experience./ This video will be separated into 2 parts. First is scriptwriting and the second is drawing the comic.
Before we start writing our comic. We have to think about the genre of our comic first./ If you’re comic is fantasy, like mine, you have to create your world first by answering these questions;/ place, culture and era of this world from the way of life until the season and condition, blah blah blah.// If you still can't answer all of them, don’t worry write them down for a moment when you really need them. You can always go back and write. (When I wrote it, I thought it was all over. But actually, there are many important details left. But anyway)// If your world is the real world, you don't have to do this part./ Then when we already got the genre of our comic. Next, it's about the characters and the storytelling. What kind of person is your main character? Who are you? How old are you? What do you do? and how will you proceed with your story? Through the main character alone? (Like mine, it is a comedy routine comic.)// With this kind of story, I can't recommend anything other than to read writings or comics that are similar to yours. See how you write and tell stories the way you like. Then adapt it to write in your story./ Don't worry about bad writing or anything. You can come back and fix it at any time. There's nothing right or wrong with the comic script, so you better write what you like.
