ASMR Color Slides (sorting, counting, soft speaking)
My Dad served in the US Army in the late 1950’s, and was stationed in Germany. There he met my Mom, who came back to the United States with him, and married him in 1960. I have a small collection of color slides from my parents that were taken around this time, and in this video, we’ll sort the slides to get them into chronological order, and then look at them using the viewer we tinkered with in the last video.
But this video is also a small musing on leaps of faith. These slides happen to capture a few slices of my parents’ lives right before and right after my Mom made a big decision - to leave her homeland and her family to follow Dad to a new but uncertain life in a new country with an unfamiliar language. She made a huge leap of faith, a much bigger one than any I’ve made in my life, I believe.

This video veered in a little more rambly and conversational direction than I had originally intended, but I think that’s just where the subject matter pulled me this time. I had never actually viewed these slides properly before recently buying the red sparkly slide viewer, so I think I was led along the same journey in real time that I hope you’ll enjoy as you watch.
