I bought a Chinese USB 2 MIDI adapter CJS1039B MD01B. When connected to a MIDI keyboard, it worked so poorly that it was unusable. Upon disassembling it, it turned out that the Chinese engineer had cut corners and hadn't installed the opto-isolator needed for the interface to work. In this video, I sketch the schematic of the device, then remove all unnecessary parts and install the opto-isolator. Next, I test this USB2Midi adapter on a synthesizer.
