tips:
1) try for a triple carnival at the start (carnival is when you leave the water and start flipping and don't let go of the rotation until you land a nice entry) it's good for gathering speed. regulate your flip speed by doing well-timed corkscrews.
2) Variety of tricks will amp your multiplier so try to squeeze in a little bit of everything. frontside and backside rewinds help a lot (change direction of flips after 2 or 3 full flips).
3) Visiting and revisiting planets is your biggest source of points.
4) Horizontal speed translates into vertical speed when kicking out of tailslides and starslides, so you should never really be launching straight up.
5) Go as high as you can on your first couple trips to space by using starslides. You do rack up a lot of points for staying on starslides for a long time, but it's nothing compared to planet scores.
6) 13-15 nice entries seems to be the range for a decent attempt to go for space.
7) The restaurant is REALLY HIGH UP. As you can see in this run, Pluto flies by like a blip on a radar, but it still wasn't enough. It really comes down to RNG (getting a lucky starslide at Pluto and launching from there really helps).
8) When going super fast, starslides become really hard to launch from, so you should familiarize yourself with where they can spawn, try to predict them and launch off immediately.
