So this is both a responce to the Modern Maker podcast plywood challenge (http://bit.ly/2IgWGP6) and a bit of catharsis for me when I remembered my masters project.
I've been thinking about the fundamentals of photography recently and a look at some of the basics felt like the right thing to do.
Also I love pissing about.
So the idea of a camera obscura is that it is a dark box that focuses or projects light onto a surface in it's darkened interior. The potential to make a room sized camera obscura easily is due to the nature of a pin hole or in this case a hole the size of an apple.
So this device that I created for the video is showing two basic principles of photography:
1. How light can be projected through diffraction occoring when it passes through a small opening.
2. How light projected can be viewed inverted or upside down on a surface in a dark room.
