How materials change colour when heating/cooling | Thermochromism |Smart Materials | Part 7
This video is the continuation of Smart Materials Series.
In this video, I have shown the heat stimuli-responsive smart materials and its application in medicine, banknote security, paintings, cosmetics, toys, etc.
Thermochromism:
Thermochromism is the property of substances to change colour due to a change in temperature. A mood ring is an excellent example of this phenomenon, but thermochromism also has more practical uses, such as baby bottles which change to a different colour when cool enough to drink, or kettles which change when water is at or near boiling point. Thermochromism is one of several types of chromism.
