Small Bear -VS- Bird Feeder in Northern Virginia
I was in town yesterday when I got the notification that a bear was going around my house. When I got home the bird feeder was still up, so I assumed that the bear didn't come to this side of my house.. it wasn't until early this morning when I checked my camera that I saw the bear had indeed been on my back deck and had tried to pull off the feeder, but it automatically moved based on the weight of the bears paw. The bird feeder is a Droll Yankee anti squirrel bird feeder that will automatically spin if anything heavier than a bird lands on it, it tosses squirrels frequently. =) The bear gave up. If it had been a bigger and smarter bear, I'm sure he would have just pulled the feeder pole down.
