Practice critical, inquisitive questioning in your life. When you find yourself presented with a particular situation, ask, “Is there an equal and opposite side that could be true?” In doing so, you tend to detach from your own opinions, judgements, and reactions. In reality, there are only different gradients of truth - some perspectives contain more truth than others. We tend to confine ourselves to our particular worldview and then apply this perspective to the situations we encounter in life. Consider questioning what worldview you may currently hold and what the opposite of that looks like. Then apply multiple viewpoints to the same situation and observe what insights you may receive. By questioning everything, we question what other people are saying, but more importantly, we question what we are thinking. A very strong and powerful, developmental tool.
Move away from dual positionalities and observing life as a gradation of truth. Hooyah. Stay focused.
