The Prophet's Love for Orphans
The Love of the Messenger of Allah for Orphans.
One day the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was walking to the market. Suddenly an orphan ran up to him. The boy was hungry and shivering from the cold weather. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gently asked. Son, do you have parents? The orphan replied, no, O Messenger of Allah. My father has died and my mother is also gone.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) felt touched. He held the boy's hand and took him to the market. There the Prophet bought food and clothes for the orphan. He also gave the boy some dirhams. The orphan looked at the Prophet with eyes full of light.
O Messenger of Allah, what makes you care about me? The Prophet smiled. My son, Allah loves those who care about orphans. If we help them, Allah will bless us.
As Muslims, we are obliged to help orphans in meeting their needs such as providing food, clothing, and a decent place to live.
