Trigger Warning Death and Abuse
We took in Aquabella and her 3 Day old kits just before the holidays. It is with great sadness to say that we lost all 3 kits on Day 4. Aquabella was rescued by Napa Bunnies from a very difficult situation. She was a part of a larges scale rabbit rescue undertaken by Napa Bunnies.
Aquabella from Day 1 (with us) always buried herself under her fleece flooring. She was starving and separated from her kits on Day 2 (at rescue site). She had already lost several of her kits.
We started one-on-one nursing with Aquabella once we started being their foster. We knew that they were crashing on Day 4. We started Tube Feeding them in the morning. We lost all of them that night. We laid to rest Lucia, Astra and Lucja under a tree at a very Private Place where we can talk with them our on hikes.
We let Aquabella adjust for a week. She had unlimited baby pellets to help her gain weight. She would eat her pellets and greens in private after we went to bed. She would then bury herself in the fleece. We would remove the fleece and say Good Morning Aquabella “We Love You”.
We have stated to do more pickup and hold with her. We would move her to the couch where we can cuddle and hold her.
She is Very Difficult to pick up. We knew that she is fearing for her Life.
We talked with Napa Bunnies. We found out that other rabbits under their care have a similar problem.
Aquabella an all the other were Picked Up by their Ears.
We were crying while were petting Auabella. We had to wipe away our tears from her fur. We replaced our tears with Bunny Kisses on her head. We sad "We Love You with all of our Hearts". People are very kind. You Will NEVER know abuse again
You will ONLY know LOVE and Kindness.
She will be spayed soon. We are trying to rebuild her trust in people.
