I started to learn how to use Maya. Out of the general concept, which are relatively the same across the different 3D software, the usage is different especially coming from Blender. However, being familiar with Cinema 4D, I kind found it easy to handle in terms of Hard surface Modeling, tools or UVs.

This is literally my first model ever made on Maya. It took me about 5 days to make. It has also been UV unwrapped in Maya using UDIMs workflow instead of standard individual UV map. It can be overwhelming at first but will completely speed up your workflow later.

I textured the ship on Substance Painter, the usual color, metal, normal and height and I added the emissive map, that I would usually do manually on Blender.

I am still not familiar with rigging on Maya but definitely working on it, therefore I did it on Blender, the same for rendering.

I tested a landing shot using empty within empty within empty (lol) and using rotation constraints. Played with camera noise the shockwave which definitely gives realism.

I'm planning to use this ship for a personal little cinematic project.

Also, the ship is inspired by Aliens prequels Prometheus and Alien Covenant.

My Specifications:
I am using a simple HP Pavilion laptop (Wish to have a decent PC one day though)
GPU: NVIDIA GEForce GTX 1050
CPU: Intel Core i5 7300HQ @ 2.50GHz
