Color Mixing Activity for Children
1. Preparing the Materials
On a sheet of white paper, draw three cups: green, orange, and purple.
Place the sheet in a file (folder) and grease the file well with vegetable oil.
2. Preparing the Paint Drops
Place drops of colored water in three colors: yellow, red, and blue, onto the file. Arrange them in any order.
3. The Child's Task
Using a wooden stick, the child moves the droplets of paint toward the cups, sorting them by color.
Since the colors of the paint and the cups don't match, the paints need to be mixed:
For the green cup, mix yellow and blue.
For the orange cup, mix red and yellow.
For the purple cup, mix blue and red.
4. Objective of the Activity
To introduce the child to the basics of color mixing and develop fine motor skills.
Kids really enjoy this activity, I highly recommend giving it a try!
