Purpose: To strengthen the believers of Ephesus in their faith by explaining the nature and purpose of the Church.
Setting: This letter was not written to confront any heresy or problems in the churches. It was sent to strengthen and encourage the churches in the area. Paul spent over three years with the Ephesian church. He was very close to them (See Acts 20:17-38).
