The PI camera setup with Octoprint and Spaghetti Detective works well from a distance to produce nice looking timelapses, but it doesn't help much during the print to detect problems like stringing or blobbing, or under-extrusion. A nozzle cam can help with that. In this video we create a nozzle cam system which allows much better visibility overall and more light for the camera. We take it one step further in this video and experiment with Generative design in Fusion 360. The results were amazing and with more experience on loading requirements they'll be even better.
I have shifted the hotend fan up in order to prevent cooling of the top of the heat block and again I have shifted the part cooling fan away from the hotend for better airflow and room for wiring as well.
If you have ideas of how to steady the camera in a more professional manner, please let me know.
