When I was building the website for my entertainment company, I was getting a lot of traffic and thought I was doing great.
However, I got turned on to a tool that showed me which keywords and phrases people were searching on Google to find my company… and got a HUGE surprise.
My top traffic-driving keyword was actually one that I wasn’t even trying for, yet it was driving almost 50% of my traffic.
What’s crazier is that I didn’t have any sort of opt-in or email collector on that page for that topic (needless to say- I do know).
