With an all new DOUBLE plaster mold, I show you how to make nerikomi pottery using colored porcelain and of course, a colorful nerikomi block. A double plaster mold means I can make two cups at once and it's worked quite well for me so far. It's a great technique for preserving the detail of your nerikomi while forming more complex pieces. They're the coolest cups I'm made so far. Check it out and follow along. Let me know what you think! Technically it's a slump mold but I use it like a press mold.

You might also come across neriage in your nerikomi search. It's a similar process, sometimes used interchangeably, but neriage is usually made on the wheel after your slabs are cut and formed into a cylinder. Neri means "to mix" and age means "pull up". But again, nerikomi and neriage are similar and use many of the same techniques. Sometimes the new terms are used interchangeably but there are distinct differences at stated above.
