The story of Reesa Teesa—her nickname—has exploded online, becoming the most popular work of fiction in the past month across the entire English-language community. What makes this work unique is that it's written, or rather, narrated, in 50 10-minute TikToks.
First, it's the story of how an ordinary girl met, moved in with, became pregnant, and married a man who turned out to be a pathological liar.
But it's not just the subject matter that's interesting, but also how Reesa tells it. During her marriage, she kept an audio diary, which allowed her to recount the events she experienced in as much detail as possible.
And for us, this is a real gift. Thanks to this meticulousness, we can analyze the behavior of the heroine and her husband, and we can get clear answers to questions.
1) Who is a pathological liar and what is their motivation? Why does he need all this? Unlike a simple marriage swindler, a pathological liar is interesting because they often lie without any obvious personal gain. And why, then? That's what we'll have to figure out.
2) Also, an analysis of this saga will give us a firm answer to the question: was there something in Risa's personality, something in her behavior, that contributed to her suffering at the hands of a pathological liar? This could serve as a good warning for us all.
