Slide Wars - Digitaria | Blue Star
A "just for fun" video done for the "Slide Wars" presentation at the Furniture Society Conference 2009 in Boone, North Carolina. Attendees were invited to make slide presentations of their furniture creations, and my brother John had just made a credenza he called the "Digitaria - Blue Star."
The inspiration for his design came from having seen images of the Wally 118 powerboat (mentioned briefly in this video) and he often described his concept this way: "If Darth Vader was a pirate this would be his boat... and this (the Digitaria) would be his treasure chest."
It was just ironic that he had an opportunity to show images of his latest creation at something called "Slide Wars"; a very informal gathering meant to incite some fun. Realizing that a short video was also acceptable, not just slides -- as long as it was under 2 minutes -- a homage to "Star Wars" seemed a perfect opportunity.
Made with just 6 product shots, Apple Motion and Final Cut Pro, and some great music from John Williams.
