Heart attack, fall down the stairs, or traffic accident: When the emergency doctor arrives, it's almost always a matter of life and death. Dr. Ulrich Hölzenbein, an emergency physician in Munich for 16 years, faces new challenges on every call. This documentary follows him on a 24-hour shift and documents dramatic cases: A man is in danger of suffocating because his tongue is swelling; children develop a rash after eating; a pregnant woman needs to be rushed to the hospital. In this job, lives are saved even on weekends and holidays.
