Creating a faded text effect in Adobe Illustrator is simple and effective using the Opacity Mask technique. Follow these steps for a smooth fade-out effect on your text:
1. Open Adobe Illustrator and create a new document.
2. Select the Type Tool (T) and type your desired text.
3. Choose a font and size according to your design needs.
4. With the text selected, go to the Object menu and choose Expand. Check “Object” and “Fill” to convert the text into vector shapes.
5. Now create a rectangle the same size or slightly larger than your text using the Rectangle Tool (M).
6. Apply a black-to-white gradient to this rectangle using the Gradient panel. The direction of the gradient determines the direction of the fade.
7. Select both the text and the gradient rectangle.
8. Open the Transparency panel (Window - Transparency).
9. Click the Make Mask button. The gradient will now act as a transparency mask, fading the text from fully visible to transparent.
