And then there's also an apocryphal story about, um, Elmer Keith, the nemesis of O'Connor in that same era, old Elmer was a, a hunting guide here in Idaho. And he apparently had a client who had wounded a buck and he needed to finish him off. And when this buck appeared heading up the mountain or about to go over it or something at a long, long-range, Elmer took a couple shots at it and rolled it.
With his 44 Magnum handgun. I think it was a 44 mag. It might have been the predecessor, which was, uh, he was working on one that more or less was a 45 colt that he hopped up or something. But at any rate, he was using one of his handguns and then of course the eyebrows really went up, come on. But people have duplicated the shot, you know, people who know how to work with their handgun and the drops and stuff.
Sure enough, you can get that bullet out there.
