First, go to google and search for “retroarch download”. Select the first option and go to the downloads tab.
Here, for simplicity’s sake, just choose the nightly option. Wait for the download to finish. Once that is done, you can open it in your downloads folder and click on the installer and go through the installation process.
After that, go ahead and open RetroArch. You can add a shortcut on your desktop if you would like.
The first thing to do is to click on the “load core” option. Then, go down and look for “download a core”. You will need to scroll quite a bit to find the game boy advance emulators under Nintendo. Once you have found it, you can choose any of the emulators here. For this example, we will go with M GBA. Click on it and it will be downloaded and installed.
Now, go back and select “load core” and choose “M GBA” from your list. The core is now loaded. Now, scroll down and select “online updater”. You will want to choose “update installed cores” here to make sure they are up to date to avoid any issues. I would also “update databases” to get the latest stuff as well.
Next, you will want to adjust the keyboard settings for the controller. Go to the settings tab on the left side. Then, choose the “input” option. From here, click on the RetroBind pad and choose “Port 1 Controller”. Scroll down and you will see all the keys for the GBA controller. If you want to make a change, click on the button you want to change and choose the keyboard key you want. Then, it will change it to that. Once you are happy with the changes, go back to the main menu tab. Select “load content” and find your GBA rom from your computer.
Once you have found the rom you want, click on it and the game will start. You can now enjoy playing GBA games on your PC. Thanks for watching!
