The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero — coming to Nintendo Switch 2 & PS5 in Fall 2026!
NIS America has announced The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero and The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5 in the fall of 2026. Both titles will feature enhanced resolution, support 120 FPS, and will have improved performance. Additionally, the Switch 2 edition will make use of the mouse controller option.
The wait is over for one of the most beloved JRPG arcs of the last twenty years. The legendary Crossbell Duology — finally on modern hardware, looking and playing better than ever. 🌟
📖 THE STORY — TRAILS FROM ZERO:
After three years away from his hometown, Lloyd Bannings returns in order to follow his late brother's footsteps and join the Crossbell Police Department. However, when he arrives, he finds he's been assigned to the Special Support Section — a new division that handles odd jobs and minor requests. He meets his new teammates: Elie MacDowell, the granddaughter of the city's mayor; Randy Orlando, a womanizing ex-soldier; and Tio Plato, a young tech genius.
Crossbell — the site of an ongoing territorial struggle between the Erebonian Empire and the Republic of Calvard — has developed into a prosperous city-state and one of the continent's leading economic centers. But not everything in the city shines as bright as it seems. 🕵️
✨ NEW CONSOLE FEATURES:
The new versions on Nintendo Switch 2 and PS5 support up to 4K resolution and 120 FPS, with the option to switch between original and HD-upscaled textures. That is a meaningful upgrade, particularly on the PS5 side, where prior PlayStation releases of these games carried visual compromises that the new editions are positioned to clean up.
The Switch 2 version gets the additional feature of mouse input support. For a series this menu-heavy, with this much intricate Quartz Orbment management, this is a significant accessibility and pacing win. 🖱️
