Part 10: Vape Pen Mini Fog Machine | Franken-lightning Detector
Not every experiment goes right, even for Dr. Frankenstein! Along with our LED strip lighting scenes, we’re going to add a smoke effect that emanates from the laboratory tower of our castle foam miniature from time to time to remind us that even mad scientists have facepalm moments.
Your typical store-bought smoke machines won't fit behind our cathedral window backing panel so we're going to build our own miniature version by modifying a vape pen. It's a great little device to hide in costumes and cosplay as well!
We discover that although the regular fog juice made for smoke machines works and produces smoke, it's not very thick or easily visible so it's better to use a mix of glycerin and distilled water - either a 50/50 mix or 70 glycerin/30 water mix - for thicker fog.
