NGFW Engineer Lesson 3
In this episode of my NGFW Engineer series, we hit Section 1.3: High Availability.
High Availability in the curriculum covers:
Active/Passive
Active/Active
Link and Path Monitoring
In this video, I use a VM-Series lab I already built in AWS and configure Active/Passive HA step by step, setting by setting. We go through the General tab and HA Communications so you actually understand what each option does on the firewall.
Important note for AWS viewers: Active/Active and link/path monitoring are not available in my AWS lab environment, so I do not configure them end to end. I still show you exactly where you would configure them in PAN-OS and explain how they work, so you can learn the concepts for both the exam and the real world.
You do not need clustering for this walkthrough, so we keep it focused on the HA fundamentals.
