"Satellite Communication takes place on Ka, Ku or C-band.
Ka-band operates on 20 GHz for downlink and 30 GHz for uplink.
Ku-band operates around 11-12 GHz for downlink and 14 GHz for uplink.
C-band operates on 3-4 GHz for downlink and 6 GHz for uplink.
Frequencies over 11 GHz are more prone to weather interference than lower frequencies.
Techniques used to make ka/ku bands efficient against weather interference incur extra cost.
C-band provides wide area coverage and effective against weather interferences as it operates on low frequencies.
C-band will be suitable for SMATV firm."
