While the Sony A1II won't be able to be purchased immediately, there are pre-production bodies around, mostly with influencers and some pro sports photographers. There is a feature called "Auto Subject Recognition" that will really mess you up if your are going to shoot any kind of field- sports with the new flagship camera from Sony. When turned on in the menus, the AI and its very powerful processing fights with what you are trying to do shooting athletes doing their thing. Realize that in the big picture, this powerful AI is a good thing for most other types of photography... but for sports, you have to shut it off if you want to see what the A1II is really capable of. When turned on, you can see it hunting for hundreds of targets (peoples' faces in the stands) and it is FAST! Sadly, for American Football, when it is on, it's like the Terminator hunting you down before you can shoot what you want, especially if the athletes are wearing helmets. In this video, I show you the exact menu selections that need to get shut down for you to have success shooting sports, performance, and other types of fast moving action with people watching.
