CMake
In this video, I briefly show you how use CMake to generate Makefiles. I recommend using a package manager to download and install CMake (homebrew on Mac, apt-get on Linux, etc.). If you're on a Windows machine, this may not work out so well, unless you have MinGW or Cygwin.
