The biggest lessons we've learnt from changing seamless paper backdrops

1️⃣ First off, be patient. When you carelessly rush you risk ripping your seamless paper backdrops or even damaging your light stands.
2️⃣ Use a counterweight (we used another paper backdrop box) at the end of the seamless and pull it out as far as you need for the shoot. The weight ensures it won’t roll back up.
3️⃣ When lowering/raising the light stands do a little bit at a time. If you try to put it up all the way it may tip over. If you lower them all the way it may bend your stands.
4️⃣ Use clamps to ensure the roll does not unspool on you.
5️⃣ Always & I mean ALWAYS, use sandbags. The last thing you want is for an accident to happen and the stands fall on someone.
BONUS TIP:
▶️ Keep the counter weight on the seamless when rolling it back up. This will help insure you get a tight roll from the tension it provides.
