In this tutorial, I'm showing my way of doing Anime Hairstyle in Blender (Goo Engine Version). No need for UV unwrapping (if you use the curve's method to create the hair strands). The shader is pretty light, no need for a huge configuration. You can even bake the result of the shader if you want to use it as an image for adding further details that a 3D environment can't offer (Just ideas I'm thinking about).
