Repairing a heated floor in a hammam. Why you shouldn't install a heating cable in the insulation under mosaic tiles.
Any heating cable must be surrounded by a layer of tile adhesive or screed to allow it to transfer all of its generated heat into this layer. If this heat-conducting layer of mortar above the cable is reduced, the heating cable will overheat, causing a short circuit or self-destruction.
In a room with high temperatures, such as a hammam, it is prohibited to use a heating cable placed in the grooves of the insulation and sealed with tile adhesive. Instead, use a thin heating mat with good Teflon insulation or create a sufficient layer of mortar above the heating cable to allow heat dissipation.
